United Watch: Reds impress on international duty

Several Manchester United players were involved in international football again yesterday.

Marcus Rashford celebrated his MBE award with a goal from the penalty spot for England as they overcame the world’s highest ranked team, Belgium, 2-1 at Wembley.

Meanwhile, Harry Maguire boasted seriously impressive passing statistics after 78 successful passes out of 81 saw him become his country’s most effective ball player.

David de Gea kept a clean sheet for Spain in their 1-0 win over Switzerland on Saturday.

Tottenham goalkeeper and France international Hugo Lloris praised Paul Pogba for his performance against Portugal (via GOAL), in a Nations League tie that ended 0-0. He looked a different player to the one who has struggled at Old Trafford. Anthony Martial came on for the last 17 minutes but was unable to break the scoring.

Scotland manager Steve Clarke tried Scott McTominay at centre-back again and this time the Scots kept a clean sheet winning 1-0 against Slovakia.

Wales and Ireland took each other on in a scoreless draw as Daniel James played 77 minutes, with Dylan Levitt getting 23 minutes under his belt too.

Alex Telles came on as a substitute for Brazil in their 5-0 win over Bolivia.
