Keen to reinforce their options on the left flank this summer, Bayern Munich are considering turning their attention to Marcus Rashford after missing out on Anthony Gordon.
The Everton graduate, who’s spent the last three-and-a-half years with Newcastle United, agreed a shock switch to Barcelona this week, rendering Rashford’s future at Camp Nou up in the air.

Gordon and Rashford: What’s the state of play?
Barcelona were willing to splurge a whopping £70 million to get a deal over the line with the Magpies, yet have been reluctant to shell out Rashford’s £26m buy clause – despite the on-loan Red overseeing a more prolific campaign in front of goal.
| Player | Appearances (all comps) | Goals | Assists |
| Gordon | 46 | 17 | 5 |
| Rashford | 49 | 14 | 14 |
Gordon is three years younger than his England counterpart, which is perhaps the driving factor for Hansi Flick and Deco, given that the Blaugrana do boast a young but proven squad.

Bayern shortlist Rashford following Gordon snub
Manchester Evening News’ Steven Railston revealed on Friday that there was a chance of Bayern switching their focus to the Carrington graduate to bolster Vincent Kompany’s squad.
Any talks with the player himself will have to happen either in the coming days or after England’s World Cup campaign ends, as his full focus will be on the tournament when the Three Lions kick off their group stage journey against Croatia on June 17.
It remains to be seen if United would keep Rashford’s asking price the same in the event his buy option is waived, or whether they would cheekily look to increase their demands based on his form this term.

Barca just paid 70M for a downgrade on Rashford. The winner here will be Bayren – paying peanuts for an upgrade on Gordon. The net loser is Utd.
Exactly! It’s just so irritating that Man U is so stubborn themselves! Knowing that they themselves need a winger, they rather get rid of their own grown academy player and pay millions for others unproven in this league!!!
He was literally pushed out from the team by that idiot manager, it’s clear as his first few games for him, he scored n played well. Everyone goes thru a period of depression n loss of confidence at one time or another, what more a young top player in his prime who’s seen so much turmoil in his boyhood club that didn’t believe in him anymore!
Rashford was given a ‘Messi. contract on the back of 1 good season. There was a lot of money being thrown about by Woodward. He may not have to work again.
