Report: Lazio send Man Utd €100m transfer demand for star midfielder

Reports in Italy suggest Lazio are demanding a huge €100m for Serbian midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Calciomercato report that the Serie A club are willing to let the 24-year-old leave, and he could be on the move this summer.

Milinkovic-Savic has been tentatively linked with a move to Old Trafford over several years and are now said to be interested in the Serbian international as potential replacement for the want-away Paul Pogba.

This latest report claims the player’s agent met with Lazio officials in Rome yesterday to discuss the players future.

AC Milan are already said to have made a ‘serious offer’ for the midfielder and Paris Saint-Germain are also reportedly preparing a bid.

The report says ‘attention should be paid’ to Man Utd, but the Reds’ interest does not seem as concrete as the other clubs.

If rumours are to be believed that United do want Milinkovic-Savic, then he would be a welcome addition given his power and commanding presence in midfield.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer requires two midfielders this summer following Ander Herrera’s departure and uncertainty over Paul Pogba’s future. However, it seems unlikely that they would spend up to £90m on Milinkovic-Savic who had a fairly quiet season last time out.
