Manchester United are ninth on the list of the most valuable club’s in the world, based on squad value, as per Transfermarkt.
The Reds are behind four Premier League clubs: Man City, Liverpool, Spurs, Chelsea on the list based on player values, with a combined value of £706m compared to champions Man City’s £1.05bn.
It is not hard to see why City’s squad is valued so much higher than United’s, and in all honesty I am surprised United have made the top ten on the list.

City have huge strength in depth with the likes of Leroy Sane, Riyad Mahrez, Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva, who are all worth huge amounts of money. Whereas United are still starting games with the likes of Ashley Young on the team sheet.
This list below is another reminder of just how far United are behind their European rivals and how much investment is needed to bring the Reds back to competing with Europe’s elite again.
