(Video) Man Utd greats Paul Scholes and Rio Ferdinand dissect Cavani masterclass vs Roma

Paul Scholes and Rio Ferdinand waxed lyrical about Edinson Cavani as Manchester United progressed through to the Europa League final.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were beaten 3-2 at the Stadio Olimpico but the 8-5 aggregate scoreline means the Norwegian has reached his first final as United boss.

Cavani scored both United’s goals as he put on another centre forward exhibition in the Italian capital.

The veteran Uruguayan striker ended the tie with four goals and seven out of eight goal involvements.

United greats Scholes and Ferdinand broke down Cavani’s brilliance, with Scholes comparing his movement to that of Ruud Van Nistelrooy.

Ferdinand also explained how difficult Cavani makes it to defend against in fascinating insight.

Cavani has the option to extend his contract at Old Trafford a further year and that led to a further discussion about United’s attacking transfer priorities in the summer window.
