Eric Bailly shares touching goodbye message to Manchester United fans after joining Besiktas

It was confirmed this week that Eric Bailly had left Manchester United in a permanent move to Besiktas.

The Ivorian spent seven years with the Red Devils in what was an injury-plagued stint at the club, with his last year being a season-long loan spell at Marseille.

Bailly, 29, won the Europa League, FA Cup and League Cup throughout his time as a Red and will now take his talents to the Turkish Super Lig on a one-year deal.

He would’ve known that if he had stayed, he’d have played no role in the squad this term, as Erik ten Hag did not see Bailly included in his plans moving forward.

Still, the defender will now enjoy frequent game time elsewhere and hopefully, he’s able to maintain his fitness and put the injury woes behind him.

Bailly bids farewell

He took to Instagram to bid farewell to the Old Trafford faithful, saying: “As I leave this club after many years of incredible memories, outstanding teammates and trophies, I want to express my profound gratitude.

“This chapter may be closing, but the friendships and memories will forever remain in my heart. The fans here are real champions. Thank you for everything, forever United.”
