Match preview: Manchester United take on Lyon in final friendly ahead of US tour

Manchester United take on Olympique Lyonnais tomorrow afternoon in their final friendly before the pre-season tour.

It comes one week on from the Red Devils’ first pre-season fixture, in which they overturned rivals Leeds United 2-0 in Oslo, Norway.

They’re in for a change of scenery now though, as they’ve jetted up to Edinburgh to take on the Ligue 1 club at the BT Murrayfield Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 2pm BST.

Erik ten Hag has confirmed his 24-man travelling squad for the trip, with a surprise addition being former Red and Premier League winner Jonny Evans, who has returned to the squad on a short-term contract whilst he mulls over his future options.

Senior players likely to be rested

Players that took part on international duty at the end of the season have now returned to the fold, however, they won’t feature tomorrow due to their lack of training. Instead, they’re readying themselves for Saturday’s clash with Arsenal.

Still, it provides a great chance for the manager to deploy several youngsters and his latest recruit, Mason Mount, with eagle-eyed fans watching his every move to see how he’ll fare next term.
