Wout Weghorst wasted no time in celebrating with the travelling Manchester United supporters after the team booked their place in the FA Cup final.
120 minutes was not enough to break the deadlock between the Red Devils and Brighton and Hove Albion this afternoon, so a penalty shootout was forced to decide the tie.
After 12 converted penalties from both sides, Solly March stepped up to continue the streak but went on to fire his efforts over the crossbar.
Pressure then fell onto Victor Lindelof to secure United’s progression to the final, which he did with an exceptional spot-kick.
As the shootout took place at the Brighton’s supporters’ end of Wembley, cheers came from the other end of the stadium after the United faithful watched Lindelof’s penalty hit the back of the net.
Weghorst then turned and darted straight over to the fans to begin celebrations of reaching a second domestic final this season, in which the Reds will face rivals Manchester City on June 3rd.
