Manchester United continue scouting young Sassuolo midfielder

Juventus will be worried about Manchester United hijacking their attempts to sign a new midfielder this summer.

The Serie A outfit are expected to pursue one or two new players this summer, especially if Adrien Rabiot were to leave once his contract expires at the end of the season (and that is one player I could see Newcastle showing an interest in).

Juventus have also identified Davide Frattesi as a potential candidate to bolster the middle of the pitch. The Sassuolo man is young, homegrown, affordable and highly-rated.

Manchester United have been linked with Frattesi in the past. Just five months ago, a report stated The Reds had sent scouts to Italy to watch the star but we would also face competition from Tottenham Hotspur, Inter Milan and AS Roma. It sounds like those scouting missions have been frequent in recent months.

A new report from La Gazzetta dello Sport via Calciomercato claims United have continued following the midfielder with their scouts.

So far this season, Frattesi has scored six goals in his 27 Serie A appearances, which is a good record for a young midfielder.

Let us know in the comments section if you think United should make a move for Frattesi in the summer.
