Man United stall on offers for 19-year-old as first-team chance looms

Manchester United are working on late loan deals for a handful of young guns, however, according to recent reports, one player who is unlikely to depart due to taking up a potential first-team role is midfielder Zidane Iqbal.

That’s according to a recent report from Manchester Evening News, who claim several youth stars, including Charlie McNeill, could find themselves playing elsewhere until the end of the season.

Along with McNeill, defensive duo Di’Shon Bernard and Bjorn Hardley, are also candidates to be shipped out on loan in order to secure some more regular playing time.

Charlie Savage is also set to complete a loan switch to Forest Green later this week.

However, and perhaps most interestingly, although understood to have received offers from clubs, 19-year-old midfielder Iqbal has not yet been allowed to move on loan due to Erik Ten Hag considering the possibility of awarding him with some first-team action.

Although already down as a senior member of United’s squad, Iqbal’s only appearance for the club came from the bench during a Champions League game against Young Boys over 12 months ago, so it goes without saying that fans will be hoping to see a lot more from the exciting and hugely talented Manchester-born Iraqi as the season continues.
