Union Berlin agree £10m deal with Celtic for Manchester United linked right-back

Union Berlin have agreed a deal with Celtic worth up to £10 million to sign right-back Josip Juranovic.

According to Sky Sports, the initial fee is understood to be £7.5m plus add-ons and the Croatia international has been given permission to travel to Germany for talks with the Bundesliga side.

The 27-year-old had been linked with a move to Manchester United this January after an impressive World Cup campaign in Qatar, however, it is believed that Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s improvement at Old Trafford has made Erik ten Hag rethink about looking for extra cover at right-back.

Just last week, the Daily Record reported that Celtic were ‘waiting to see if Manchester United will firm up their interest in’ Juranovic while interest came from elsewhere.

They didn’t hold out for very long!

Since then, Wan-Bissaka has performed brilliantly not only against his former club Crystal Palace, but Man City too. He deserves a degree of credit for fighting his way back into contention under Ten Hag because not long ago it seemed like his days at Old Trafford were numbered.

Now Wan-Bissaka is a player growing in market value, which is not something we expected six months ago. Hopefully it can continue.

Let us know in the comments section if you think Wan-Bissaka will stay at United beyond this summer.
