Manchester United tell Cristiano Ronaldo to not fight sacking

The fallout from Cristiano Ronaldo’s interview with TV presenter Piers Morgan has been ugly and understandably, Manchester United took their time to assess the situation before coming to a decision.

On Friday, it emerged that the 37-year-old being sacked by United was an increasingly plausible outcome due to the explosive injury, which has compromised his relationship with nearly everyone at the club.

In addition to sacking Ronaldo and thus saving millions in wages, it has also been suggested that United could sue the forward for breach of contract.

Now, there is another update on the highly dramatic situation, just days before Ronaldo is expected to lead his Portugal side out for their World Cup opener in Qatar.

According to ESPN, United have now told Ronaldo that he should not fight their decision to sack him and if he does, they could sue him.

United believe they fulfil the criteria to rip Ronaldo’s contract up and they would prefer a quick resolution but are aware that the former Real Madrid star’s reaction will be crucial. As per the report, United want the matter to be fully resolved before club football resumes again in December.

Furthermore, in another sign that United have already decided that Ronaldo is finished at the club, it’s claimed that the striker will be told that he will not be welcomed back to the Carrington training ground even if Portugal are eliminated early.

  1. I’m sure the case would be different if Ronaldo was british like that of Harry Maguire,Ronaldo deserves a better treatment than what he is getting at united for what he has done for football it seems everybody wants a piece of him,the British media,ex teammates and club executives, give the man a break dont forget he is human too,Maguire has caused us more damage,Ronaldo was top scorer for man united last season yet everybody is pointing accusing fingers his direction this season, ungrateful people, nobody wants to really listen to his side of the story everybody is about his wages and complaining like he is the worst player in the planet.Gary Neville is just being a bitch.

    1. Ronaldo was top scorer for United last season, so what? What was United’s position at the end of last season? 6th. We narrowly missed. If West Ham had to win their last game, we would have ended up 7th. Which means no CL and no Europa too. And all the ppl are praising CR7 about his 18 goals for EPL and 6 goals for CL. We want the club to win and not individual accolades

    2. Just because he was the highest goal scorer (exactly what he’s paid handsomely to do) doesn’t give him the license to go on ego trip and rubbish everyone, including his employer and manager.
What a bad role model for all those that admired him, especially the youngsters. There he was, complaining about the attitude of the young players, but he was walking out on his team mates even when they were winning. He needs to look into the mirror and see an hypocrite.

    3. If Harry Maguire had gone whingeing & bitching to the world on his arse faced mates tv show I would totally agree with you but he didnt. He stayed professional, got his head down & worked.
Everything that happens to ronaldo was brought on by him thinking he is better than he is. It shows what the world thinks of him when the only offers he can get is from China, Saudi Arabia or Australia, none of the european teams want him and the quicker the whinger is out of our club the better & hopefully he will take all the plastic fans that have their heads up his arse with them

    4. No player or manager is bigger than the club the dickheads ego and big head is now bigger than his ability he’s 37 not 27 he’s gotta realise he can’t do what he used to do he’s ruined his status as one of the greats with his childish antics and his ego …Nuff said

    5. Maguire has not done an interview slagging the club off and disrespecting them. He just hasn’t played well. When he has been asked to play he has played not refused and left before the game has ended. Ronaldo is done.

    6. You W⚓️ He’s a washed up has been and deserves all he gets maguire is twice the man he is you foreign legion so called supporters want to take a hike .

  2. Finally… Ronaldo wanted the contract ripped apart at the beginning of the season but man utd board and marketing team preferred commercial success. Sad board and mgt

  3. His ego got the better of him. He should learn to be humble and accept humility. We all should, we will then be able to give respect and to receive respect.

    1. Player of his calibre need pride to get by sometimes people trample on your being humble just because your humbleness makes you look weak. Every man should have pride equivalent to his worth. Know this and know peace.

  4. His ego got the better of him. He should learn to be humble and accept humility. We all should, we will then be able to give and receive respect. That was the price (of ego) he was prepared to pay for being rich and successful. I don’t think he’ll change, that’s his personality and fans of his type still love him and he’ll continue to be famous. We’ll see.

  5. Hahaaa Ronaldo speaks the truth, united are envy and jealous of him, there are rats even among the owners. No senior player will love to come to United any more.

  6. Why do you think he would like to sue, he wanted to leave in the summer transfer window.
The club didn’t allow that and didn’t give him game time, only way out was to do what he has just done.
    Good on you CR7.

  7. Man united is club
    Ronald is an individual
But Ronald have gave his best for the club and he deserve the respect from Man United and all the fans but racist can’t stop in Man United that’s the truth Man United love England players that’s why they are finding it difficult to win trophy for some time now they can’t do it alone they need others to win

  8. I think that this is why Ronaldo has done what he has done.
    He wanted out.
Now he has what he wanted.
MLS in America will pay him $$$
That’s all he wants now as his playing abilities are on the decline. A difficult thing for a footballer to come to terms with.

  9. 10. the truth really does hurt in this case but instead of rectifying the truth they choose to eliminate the perpetrator of the truth viva ronaldo

  11. Ten Hag should sit down with Cr7 find out where Ten Hag has messed up then both should leave the club Ten Hag is a hard useless coach/manager?

  12. There is no need to for Ronaldo to go to Carrington, it will be Manchester Uniteds loss, I am huge fan of Manchester United, but the way United handling Ronaldo matter is truly disappointing, Ronaldo is Uniteds no 1 goal scorer last year, still they handling him is not what Ronaldo deserve

  13. The biggest paradox is that Ronaldo was returning to MU to help them. ETH simply didn’t trust him and didn’t like him from the moment he entered the stadium. He still gave and still gives a chance to the worst defender of PL, which HMg. But it is sad that CR is a person who has won many awards and yet is not an appreciated or revered person. Only he is mentally capable of helping MU to at least the 4th place in the PL and to the CHL. If ETH can’t do this, then he should quit after this season and publicly apologize to CR.

  14. As much as I love CR7, he should realize that no matter how great he is, a time will come when a player begins to lose form. The coach was hired to restore the clubs winning status and if Ronaldo ain’t playing to par then it’s the manager’s job to sub or bench such players. A tree does not make a Forest so CR7 needs to respect the decision of the manager and the club that pays his wages and stop sulking like an overgrown baby. UNITED 4LIFE

  15. It is very sad to blame United’s woe on Ronaldo. Why is the club always at quarel with either the coaches or the players. Running from one controversy to ther puts a doubt on the managerial and strategic capacity of the Board of the club. The club should address the gaps pointed out by our player (Ronaldo) instead of the medium Ronaldo used to drive his grievance. If these gaps are not addressed I doubt if there would not be another wrangling with another player or coach soon, just like that of Jose, Pogba, Ole, Ronaldo….

  16. Ronaldo just stated the truth. United are a shadow of the team that they were and are doing nothing to improve. CR7 wanted his out of his contract and this is why he did the interview. United needs to focus on improving their structures or it will be many decades until they can even smell a trophy again.

  17. I think he deserve to be treated much better than this. I don’t think any coach with the right mind will ask CR7 to be in the game at the 87 min.
I think TenHag should be replaced sine he is not able to use the best player in the wrold

  18. People please do not forget that his individual achievements made united finish 6 not in relagation zone.
Also what he point out about the club its a reality if you a proper fan you should be worried.

  19. Past glories. He was one of the best, but certainly not now. Infact Ten Hag was too gracious to be giving him chances when it is glaring he has loose form due to old age.
I always laugh when i see ronaldo pretending to deceive people that he is still a good player. What comes to my mind is when samuel etto football finished, he was always acting to prove something. When in reality he has nothing left.
Old age and death cant be cheated.
The Glazers are business people and cant be payinv such a massive wages weeklyto a dead horse.
Ronaldo is so arrogant, if he was humble like Messi that ballon prize, he would have been ahead of messi. But for his arrogance he was voted out to allow Messi to be ahead.
For hiz comment on Rooney, till date no player is like him as a man utd legend for now.
I think Ronaldo should retire and go back for pursuit of formal education cos that is basically what he is lacking

  20. There are always two sides to every story. Ronaldo admits he was wrong to refuse to go on to the pitch but equally explains why he felt driven to this. Ten Haag only makes his decisions for the benefit of his team/squad. He is an experienced coach however he will never have managed a superstar with the ego and status of Ronaldo, so he has made mistakes. It is sad to read and hear this once great club go through such humiliating turmoil and we can only hope that the parting of the ways is seamless.Ronaldo finds another club to see out his career, United, as a club take on board some of the valid points raised by Ronaldo and Ten Haag admits to himself he could have handled Ronaldo better and takes those lessons forward in his career!

  21. When last has maguire played??
I was expecting Ronaldo to know he’s aging and should serve as a leader great assisted and awesome role model for the lads. The club is likely not giving you all that you want but as a legend you don’t really need to dent the image of the club that trusted you and made you a superstar. I may agree that the club don’t do the right thing but he should have managed the situation and not in this manner. I still love him and Manchester I will always love no matter what

  22. With the interview he gave to Pierse Morgan the outcome was inevitable and should be no surprise to anyone.
Manchester United is a club of which everyone does their best to achieve success.
It’s not a platform for a one man band and an egotist

  23. Ronaldo needs to be listened to.Even the even how many times have the man.u. owners misbehaved by not listening to fans
