Manchester United have began legal proceedings to explore whether they have a leg to stand on against Cristiano Ronaldo for alleged breach of contract after claims he made in a recent interview with Piers Morgan on TalkTV.
The explosive interview means Ronaldo will almost certainly never play for Manchester United again, with strong doubts stemming over whether he will return to Carrington after the World Cup in Qatar. It seems like the 37-year-old has burnt all bridges at Old Trafford and is set to have his contract terminated by the club.
According to The Guardian, United’s stance is that Ronaldo should not receive a payoff and they would like the process completed as soon as possible.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner made a series of allegations against the club during his interview with Morgan, although by admitting he has “no respect” for Erik ten Hag, I think the club have no other choice but to sack him.
On Friday, the club released a short statement on the issue: “Manchester United has this morning initiated appropriate steps in response to Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent media interview. We will not be making further comment until this process reaches its conclusion.”
