Manchester United confident of reaching agreement on deal for Antony

Manchester United are preparing a fresh offer for Ajax winger Antony.

According to Mike Verweij of De Telegraaf, Manchester United have a personal agreement in place with Antony for a five-year deal which will run until 2027.

It is understood that the player is desperate for a move after Ajax turned down United’s latest offer and has been training on his own in Amsterdam.

Antony has handed in an official transfer request to suggest that he wants the Eredivisie champions to agree on a transfer with United, as per The Mirror.

The Athletic claim United are confident of reaching an agreement with Ajax to sign Antony. Reliable reporter David Ornstein adds that our pursuit of PSV Eindhoven attacker Cody Gakpo has cooled.

Antony to reunite with Ten Hag and Martinez at Manchester United

A move to Old Trafford would see Antony form a reunion with Erik ten Hag and Lisandro Martinez at United. And, as we seen against Liverpool, the manager knows which players to take from the Dutch league.

Furthermore, the 22-year-old has consistently been Ten Hag’s prime attacking target this summer. It’s not a good look if we fail to deliver the manager’s wishes and that has already happened with Frenkie de Jong.

This is one to keep an eye on over the coming days!
