Manchester United fan group The 1958 are pushing plans for another anti-Glazer protest.

We’ve had MUST describe the American family’s ownership as akin to a “fish that rots from the head”, while The 1958 rally their troops into another peaceful protest. The group are trying to arrange protests on a consistent basis to show the world how unhappy we are with the Glazers.

It’s time for change.

The 1958 organised a protest before the opening game of the season against Brighton & Hove Albion, but fans are reaching new levels of frustration after seeing the team lose its first two games of the season.

Now they are asking fans to gather opposite the club megastore for 7.30pm on Monday, just half an hour before the game against Liverpool kicks-off.

A statement from The 1958 read: “For Liverpool, we will plant The 1958 flag at the trinity [statue] for those wanting to make a stand from 7.30pm. In support of match-going and non match-going fans who have made the journey to show their discontent against this failing ownership.

“We urge anyone to please contact us for any future ideas or plans concerning match day actions so we can help to validate the feasibility and provide help, support and advice. We are all on the same side and it’s crucial the momentum and pressure is maintained above all else. This is a war not a battle, dig yourselves in and be prepared for the long haul.”

The Glazers are under severe pressure to sell up, with Elon Musk joking about making a bid on social media, while there is a New York investment fund in the process of preparing a bid to buy the club.

Only time will tell if they’re getting cold feet about owning United.

  1. All power to those trying to rid our Club of these leeches. But, don’t think that new owners would mean everything now OK. We’ve still got a team that under-performed so badly last season that we missed out on the Champions League, hence the best players don’t want to join. Rangnick’s fault? Nope, still under-performing. Even with Glazer ownership, team should be playing a hell of a lot better. Just saying…
