Brandon Williams issues heartfelt message to fans post following injury setback

Manchester United full-back Brandon Williams has suffered an injury which has kept him from travelling with the squad for the first leg of the pre-season tour in Thailand.

It is not yet known if Williams will miss the entire pre-season, where he’d have got a chance to impress new manager Erik ten Hag, with the capability to play full-back on both flanks.

Ten Hag has already signed a new left-back this summer with Tyrell Malacia arriving from Feyenoord to compete with Luke Shaw, but it remains to be seen if the Dutch coach will have Williams as part of his plans moving forward.

All we know now is that Williams has sustained an injury and still pledges to one day play in front of the “best fans in the world”, with an Instagram post seemingly hitting out at suggestions that his snub from the pre-season squad could be down to a transfer-related matter.

Williams is bound to be frustrated, but it’s hopefully not the end of his pre-season for the Reds, as we await to hear the true extent of his injury.

To English defender, who spent last season on loan at Norwich City, took to Instagram on Friday night to share a message with the fans who have supported him.

Williams wrote: “My injury, I told myself to deal with it and bounce back stronger. My goal is to play in-front of the best fans in the world.”
