Erik ten Hag taking English lessons with his heart set on Manchester United job

Manchester United fans should hold back on getting excited about the potential appointment of Erik ten Hag even if the Ajax coach is taking English lessons to prepare himself for talks with the club.

According to MailOnline, Ten Hag is studying English in a bid to ensure he has a fluent grasp of the language ahead of a possible move to the Premier League this summer. The Dutch manager was previously linked with the Tottenham Hotspur job, when Daniel Levy opted for Nuno Espirito Santo instead… and we all know how that went.

The report adds that Ajax are aware of Ten Hag’s plans to leave the club at the end of the season, however, Manchester United are also considering a move for Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Sir Alex Ferguson has seemingly recommended Carlo Ancelotti as a short-term option if Pochettino snubs an offer from the 20-time champions of England. The latest on Ten Hag is that his heart is set on the job at Old Trafford.

Sami Mokbel writes: “The Dutchman is said to have his heart set on a move to United at the end of the season – but the fact he is committed to fluently learning English will leave him in good stead if any other job comes up.”

The Daily Mail reporter claims Ten Hag would bring coach Mitchel van der Gaag with him to England.

However, I would hold back on getting excited over Ten Hag’s potential appointment until it becomes crystal clear that Real Madrid are going to move for Pochettino.

The Argentine has a lot of admirers at Old Trafford.
