Man United slash midfielder’s asking price amid Premier League interest

After being allowed to join West Ham United on a short-term loan, Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard enjoyed an excellent second half of last season.

Having teamed back up with former manager David Moyes, Lingard, 28, was able to rack up regular first-team minutes during a spell that saw him miraculously reignite his form.

After featuring in 16 matches, in all competitions, for the Hammers – the on-loan United man managed to net an impressive nine goals and five assists.

Seemingly back to his best, Lingard, who frequently comes under heavy criticism, has done exceptionally well to remind fans he is a player still capable of playing at the highest level.

So impressive was the English midfielder during his time in East London, that is now widely accepted that Moyes would like to re-sign him this season on a permanent deal.

Despite appearing to struggle to meet United’s transfer demands, the latest in the ongoing saga comes from The Express, who claim the Red Devils have slashed their asking price to just £20m.
