Former Manchester United midfielder sacks agents amid struggle to find new club

Former Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard is still without a club after leaving Nottingham Forest in the summer.

The England international remains a free agent following the conclusion of a one-year deal worth £200,000-a-week at Forest.

Lingard, 31, has been looking for a new club for the past six months and reports state he has grown frustrated over the lack of progress.

According to Sky Sports News, citing a source close to the player, Lingard has cut ties with his representatives as a result of their failure to secure him a move to a new club.

“Lingard just wants to play football and has subsequently terminated all ties with his former agents,” the source claimed.

It has also been suggested that ‘money is not the driving force’ for Lingard’s next move.

This comes after Manchester United legend Paul Scholes hit out at Lingard for posting gym pictures, and questioning whether he’s ever going to get back to playing football.

Lingard has been training privately in Dubai. He has failed to secure a deal after training spells with West Ham and Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq during the season.

There’s no way we’ll be taking him back at Old Trafford either.
