Ole Gunnar Solskjaer couldn’t have envisaged a better opening day of the season as he watched his side run riot against Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United.
Manchester United were dominant, sharp, strong, and imposed themselves on their opponents similar to the 6-2 win over Leeds last year.
The only difference was that a full crowd was in attendance at Old Trafford at this time and the Manchester United supporters were treated to a great surprise before the game.
Raphael Varane was finally unveiled as Manchester United’s third signing of the summer and it was probably one of the most memorable reveals in modern history – at least when it comes to signings at the club.
✍️ He's here. It's signed.
Welcome to Manchester United, welcome to Old Trafford, Raphaël Varane! 👋

The 28-year-old oozed class as he stepped out on the hallowed turf in his suit. He showed off his new red strip with No.19 on the back before taking a selfie from the centre of the pitch, which was subsequently posted on social media.
It was all broadcasted by BT Sport, as seen above, who did a wonderful job in capturing the atmosphere at Old Trafford. It was a fitting setting for the gargantuan afternoon in Manchester.
