Manchester United’s Facundo Pellistri rejoins Alaves on loan

CD Alaves have announced the resigning of Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri on a season-long loan.

Pellistri, 19, signed for United on deadline day last summer following a transfer from Uruguayan side CA Penarol.

The right winger played for the club’s youth side but a decision was made to allow him go out and experience first team football. Pellistri performed well at youth level and attracted interest from CD Alaves, who he joined on loan for the second half of last season.

Despite impressing during pre-season in a United shirt, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his staff believe the youngster would gain more from another season in Spain, with United no longer lacking in the attacking department after finally securing the signing of Jadon Sancho.

He scored a beautiful goal in the 2-1 win over Derby County earlier this summer.

Pellistri had previously told MUTV that he would like to stay at United for the coming season.

The loan move has been confirmed via Alaves’ official website.

The young Uruguayan scored twice and assisted another four goals during his short stint at the club.

We would like to wish Pellistri all the best on his journey this season.
