Upset for Manchester United duo as Denmark knock Wales out of Euro 2020

Manchester United had two players involved in Wales’ Euro 2020 campaign but they’ve just been eliminated.

It was not Daniel James’ finest match in a Wales shirt as they crashed out of the European Championships.

James came off with 77 minutes on the clock against Denmark, who led 2-0, with the growing feeling that they would be the ones to progress to the quarter-finals.

Denmark were excellent all over the pitch and Wales were unable to create anything special. Even towards the end, they played with a swagger and could’ve extended the lead.

The Danes looked comfortable as soon as a costly mistake from Neco Williams gifted them a second goal – and Wales failed to respond.

A sad moment for James and of course Dylan Levitt to crash out of Euro 2020. Especially when many would have felt they had an outside chance of qualifying for the next round.

Wales finishing in the last-16 shouldn’t be considered a disappointment either. That’s a decent return with a stand-in manager.

Denmark won 4-0 in the end.
