With just a few weeks remaining until the window slams shut for another four months, Manchester United fans are pondering whether there’ll be any further acquisitions added to Ruben Amorim’s ranks.
As things stand, the Red Devils have welcomed an entirely new frontline in the form of Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko, as well as highly-rated Paraguayan defender Diego Leon, who agreed his transfer to Old Trafford back in January but was unable to officially make the move until he turned 18.

Given United mustered up only 44 Premier League goals across the entirety of 2024/2025, it’s safe to say the attacking department took priority heading into the summer. Now that it’s been adequately bolstered, there are two areas of the pitch INEOS are considering strengthening – and they’ve already got two targets in mind.
Carlos Baleba
The Brighton and Hove Albion starlet, 21, has quickly established himself as one of the hottest midfield prospects in Europe in recent years, especially since signing for the Seagulls from Lille in 2023.
Now resigned to having their most coveted talents plucked from their grasp year after year, Brighton were hoping to keep hold of Baleba this time around, at least for another season.
However, reports have suggested that recent approaches made by United have turned the player’s head, and, while he won’t actively push for an Amex exit or force a transfer, he is attracted to the idea of representing the 20-time champions.
Should talks advance any further, it’s expected Brighton will demand upwards of £100 million to cut ties with their formidable middleman prematurely.
Gianluigi Donnarumma
It’s no secret that United’s current No.1, Andre Onana, has struggled considerably since joining the club two years ago.
A catalogue of costly errors and goalkeeping howlers has often proven detrimental to the side’s results and form, prompting concerns over whether the Cameroonian is simply just not the right fit for the English top flight.
As such, INEOS are said to have been alerted to Donnarumma’s availability.
The Champions League winner’s contract talks with Paris Saint-Germain have reached an impasse as of late, with the player now growing resigned to the fact he may be offloaded to avoid him leaving for free at any stage.
Donnarumma, 26, could even be made available for a cut-price fee of just £26-28 million if he’s to leave the Parc des Princes this summer, with a potential transfer to United holding great appeal to the Italian international.
