Barcelona are reportedly ready to turn their attention towards Marcus Rashford who might finally fulfil his dream of playing at the Camp Nou.

This has been an eventful day for both the Catalan giants and the English attacker. The Blaugrana have well and truly missed out on signing their main transfer target, Nico Williams, who has now penned a 10-year deal with his current employers, Athletic Club.

The Catalans have been impeded by their ongoing FFP troubles, so they weren’t able to satisfy the demands of the Euro 2024 winner and his entourage.

Therefore, Blaugrana will now resort to other options in their bid to bolster the left wing, and Rashford has now emerged as a serious candidate.

After returning from his loan spell at Aston Villa, the 27-year-old has no place in Ruben Amorim’s plans, so it has been reported on Friday that Rashford and four other Man Utd outcasts have asked to leave the club. So could the stars finally line up for Rashford and Barcelona?

According to Cadena Ser, the Spanish champions have identified Rashford and Liverpool winger Luis Diaz as their main targets. However, the latter is a significantly costlier option, as the Anfield outfit has slapped a £70 million price tag on his back.

Luis Diaz 50 17 8

On the other hand, Man United would be happy to sell the England international for £40 million, the same figure that was inserted in Aston Villa’s option-to-buy clause.

But while the Spanish source claims that Barcelona are now plotting a move for Rashford, their aim would be to sign the player on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season. Moreover, they are only willing to spend £34.5 million on the operation.

Hence, it remains to be seen if United would be willing to negotiate these terms, as their ideal objective is to sell the versatile attacker on a permanent transfer. After all, the last time they sent Rasfhord on loan with a buy option, they ended up in square one.

Furthermore, the report claims that the Red Devils have received other offers for the Manchester native, and they intend to offload him as soon as possible. Therefore, the LaLiga giants must act quickly and decisively if they wish to seal a deal.
