Kick-off time and date set in stone for second successive Manchester derby FA Cup final

The FA have confirmed this morning that the FA Cup final will kick off at 3pm on Saturday, May 25.

It gives Manchester United and Manchester City just under a month to prepare for their clash, which remarkably forms an exact repeat of last season’s final.

Pep Guardiola’s side reigned victorious in the first-ever Manchester derby FA Cup final, opening the scoring in just 12 seconds through skipper Ilkay Gundogan.

In the 33rd minute, Bruno Fernandes was able to level the scoring from the spot after Jack Grealish was adjudged to have handled the ball inside the area, filling the travelling Reds with an abundance of hope after such a disastrous start.

Such optimism was cut short after just 18 minutes, though, as Gundogan netted his second of the match, which was the final goal of the tie.

As such, redemption is on the line for Erik ten Hag and his men this time out, and considering the recent speculation over United’s poor results, the manager may just be able to save his job with a convincing showing.
