Kobbie Mainoo will now become part of the conversation for a call up to the England squad for Euro 2024.
It’s bizarre because he has yet to make his debut for the senior England side, although he has been called up for the very first time today – just days after missing out on a place in Gareth Southgate’s plans for the upcoming friendlies against Brazil and Belgium.
Mainoo has been in fine form all season, enjoying a breakthrough campaign and at the age of 18 he is on the verge of making his England debut.

The academy graduate has gone from strength to strength as a first-team player.
There will be a sharp increase in calls for him to make the England squad for the ournament in Germany and the prospect of that happening now feels far more likely.
Especially after his maiden call-up.
