Fabrizio Romano hints that Mason Greenwood could depart Old Trafford this summer

Fabrizio Romano has this morning offered an update on one-time Manchester United starlet Mason Greenwood, with the Getafe loanee facing an uncertain future following the arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS powerhouse.

With Greenwood currently plying his trade at the Estadio Coliseum in Spain, Romano has suggested United are yet to make a conclusive decision regarding the player – although the likelihood of a sale would appear to be the most prominent outcome for the 22-year-old attacker.

The Bradford native has made 26 appearances in all competitions this season, supplying eight goals and five assists. Following an initial settling-in period, the troubled hitman has found his feet in La Liga, cultivating a reputation as a cult hero amongst the Azulones.

Ratcliffe has set out to create a best-in-class setup at the Manchester Giants, with his renowned right hand, Sir Dave Brailsford, orchestrating the assembly of some of the game’s biggest background names. Amongst the many issues is the financial management regarding players and the mismanagement of fees and wages.

A potential sale would supply a much-needed financial injection for an upcoming transfer summer window – while addressing the inevitable constraints of the club’s financial fair play issues. Let us know what you think – does the player have a future in Manchester, or is it best for all involved to sever ties and close the chapter on Greenwood’s time at Old Trafford?
