Manchester United scouts watch Swedish striker with 43 goal contributions this season

Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres scored his 32nd goal of the season in front of Manchester United scouts on Thursday night.

The Sweden international is expected to see his value in the transfer market rise significantly, although it is understood that he has a whopping £86 million release clause written into his deal following a £20.5 million switch from Coventry City to Sporting Lisbon last July.

Gyokeres has hit the ground running in Portugal after registering 43 goal contributions so far in his first season at Lisbon, as per Transfermarkt. It’s an incredible tally and we are not one bit surprised to see him linked with a move to the Premier League.

According to The Mirror, United were watching Gyokeres in Sporting’s 2-1 Taca da Liga semi-final first-leg win over Benfica.

Additionally, Arsenal and Chelsea sent scouts of their own to watch the in-form Swede as well as other players.

United have also been linked with moves for Benfica duo Joao Neves and Antonio Silva. There has been reports of scouts being spotted at a majority of Benfica’s games this season.

Let us know in the comments section if you think United should sign Gyokeres, Neves or Silva.
