Man United learn asking price of transfer target, Liverpool favourites to sign him

Donyell Malen is a target for Manchester United and Liverpool, and Borussia Dortmund are reportedly asking for between €40 and €50 million to sell him.

Sport Witness has confirmed a story by Sport BILD that suggests Donyell Malen would probably depart Borussia Dortmund during the summer transfer window in order to assist the Bundesliga team in financing new signings.

The Dutch striker is reportedly being pursued by Manchester United and Liverpool. They will have to pay between €40 and €50 million to sign him.

Malen has had an inconsistent career since moving from PSV Eindhoven to Borussia Dortmund in July 2021. The 25-year-old, who graduated from PSV Eindhoven’s youth division, spent his early years in the Netherlands and England, spending time at Arsenal during that period.

The Dutchman earned a move to the Bundesliga after rising to prominence at the Eredivisie team. However, for the previous two and a half years, he has shown up and then disappeared for Borussia Dortmund.

Malen has made 30 appearances in all competitions this season, tallying 12 goals and 4 assists, although he lacks consistency.

Malen hasn’t been reliable for Dortmund, but his stock is still high and he is being pursued by a number of big clubs. Man United and Liverpool are fighting for his signature as the summer transfer window approaches.

Before a deal fell through, the Red Devils thought about making a winter to sign Malen. Erik ten Hag is pursuing the 25-year-old with the help of his Eredivisie contacts, showing that they still have interest in him.

United are now aware of the cost to sign him, with Dortmund demanding between €40 and €50 million to let him go.

In the summer transfer window, Liverpool may be willing to spend about €40–50 million to get Malen’s services. The article also states that the Reds are the front-runners over United to sign the Dutchman.
