Jadon Sancho has been exiled from the Manchester United first team for the past three months, which has led to numerous links to new clubs in January.
The most recent rumours suggest United and Borussia Dortmund could negotiate a swap deal that could see the two clubs exchange Sancho and Donyell Malen.
Those reports came from Sport Bild, however, Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg has poured cold water over that story.
Writing on X, formerly known as Twitter, Plettenberg said a swap deal for Sancho and Malen is ‘very unrealistic’ as things stand because neither club has been planning such an exchange.
📍News #Sancho/#Malen: A swap deal is very unlikely at this stage! All parties involved consider a potential exchange as unrealistic.
➡️ And we were told that this is currently not planned by either Dortmund or ManUtd!

Malen may want to leave Dortmund, but it is understood that he is not a priority for United right now. The Dutch star has managed five goals and two assists for the Bundesliga outfit this season.
After joining Dortmund in the same summer that Sancho signed for United, in 2021, the winger has made 92 appearances, scoring a total of 24 goals.
While Malen could provide competition for Alejandro Garnacho and Antony, I don’t think he is the calibre of player that could edge either of our current duo out of the team.
