United-linked teenage starlet being frozen out by current club for refusing contract extension

Rumoured Manchester United target Roony Bardghji is being frozen out of his current club for opting against a long-term contract extension.

Red Devils fans will be all too familiar with the Copenhagen starlet’s talents after he provided a devastating Champions League dagger when the two sides met in a group-stage clash at Parken Stadium last November; United took an early 2-0 lead before a seven-goal thriller culminated in Bardghji scoring an 87th-minute winner in his off-the-bench cameo.

Bardhji, 18, is reluctant to commit his long-term future to the Danish side amid interest from numerous European clubs; Manchester Evening News previously claimed that United were among the teams circling the young prospect, who is out of contract in 18 months and has scored 11 goals this term.

Since learning of the attacker’s desire to ply his trade elsewhere, Copenhagen have granted him zero minutes of game time this calendar year, as per Fabrizio Romano.

United will need to decide whether to wait and acquire his signature on a free or test his side’s resolve with a bid this summer.
