Steve Bruce has tipped Champions League winning manager to take over at Man United

Manchester United legend Steve Bruce has tipped Thomas Tuchel to take over at the helm of the club.

This speculation comes following the announcement by Bayern Munich this morning that Tuchel would be departing the club at the end of the season.

It appears that Bayer Leverkusen, led by the incredible Xabi Alonso, will defeat the German giants to win the Bundesliga title for the first time since 2012.

Additionally, they have the Spaniard scheduled to take the German’s position, which would be a setback for Liverpool’s own plans to appoint Alonso.

Thomas Tuchel, aged 50, has been suggested as a potential candidate to assume control at Old Trafford should Erik ten Hag be dismissed.

This viewpoint has been expressed by Red Devils icon Bruce, who notably secured three Premier League titles during his tenure at United.

Speaking to OLBG, Bruce said: “Thomas Tuchel would be a good fit wherever he goes and I think it was a bit harsh that he ever lost his job with Chelsea in the first place.

“If you’re the manager of Bayern Munich now, you cannot be losing three games in a row, that’s the problem.

“It doesn’t matter who the manager is, which underlines the problem that I’ve been talking about.

“Okay, they’ve had a bad two weeks in Europe and domestically, and the manager will come under pressure.

“He will be fine, that is for sure.”

Bruce is also pleased with Man Utd’s decision to hire Dan Ashworth, who was asked to take on the role of sporting director for the Red Devils and was subsequently placed on gardening leave by Newcastle.

  1. It is amazing what former MU players who are now “pundits” will say. Tuchel for MU! ARE YOU SERIOUS! I believe in ETH and as to whether Jim and the rest of the new staff do ,we’ll see. If Jim and staff decide otherwise I’ll go along but may not agree with it.

    1. Agreed; can’t see that Tuchel would be an upgrade on what we have now. SB entitled to his opinion, of course, but in ETH we hired a Manager who had had success at previous club. Tuchel deemed not good enough at Chelsea, not good enough at Bayern Munich, so how can he be good enough for us?
