Manchester United will be in the market for central defenders in the summer. That is a guarantee and the media outlets across the continent are making the most of it by linking United with every central defender in Ligue 1, Serie A and beyond.

It also helps that INEOS are coming in and taking over the football operations at United. That will no longer be something the Glazers will have any influence over, or their puppets for that matter.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is set to back the manager in the transfer market one way or another, however, there is a feeling that Erik ten Hag needs to have a strong end to the season if he wishes to remain in the hotset.

I, for one, want Ten Hag to be manager next season and he’ll definitely want to sign a centre-back or two in the summer if that is the case.

According to a report by La Gazzetta dello Sport, United are keeping a close eye on Juventus defender Dean Huijsen, who is currently gaining first-team experience on loan at fellow Serie A outfit AS Roma.

Despite only joining Roma on loan in the January transfer window, Huijsen has already made six appearances for the club. It’s an impressive feat for an 18-year-old that made just one appearance for Juventus prior to his temporary exit.

A new report via TuttoJuve claims United are ‘prepared’ to offer around €30 million to sign the youngster.

Following an eye-catching start in the Italian capital, Huijsen sounds like a player to keep an eye on and United should be doing that if they still he has the required abilities to make it at the top.

Huijsen is also being linked with Tottenham as well as Bundesliga duo RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund.
