Lautaro Martinez’s agent addresses speculation over uncertain Inter Milan future

Inter Milan goalscorer could be on the move this summer and he is a player Manchester United have been linked with in the past.

On Wednesday, the agent of Martinez gave United – as well as any other interested club – a boost to their hopes of signing the Argentina international.

The 26-year-old’s agent, Alejandro Camano, has claimed a contract extension has yet to be agreed between his client and Inter.

Camano told Radio Sportiva, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News: “Lautaro is at very high levels, then finding an agreement is not easy, there are many aspects to discuss. Today there is still no real agreement, so let’s stay calm and talk with Inter constantly.”

The Serie A giants will obviously push to keep their captain and he won’t be leaving the San Siro on the cheap this summer. Martinez has another two and a half years left on his contract so a deal to sign him now, in January, would be expensive.

Inter have financial concerns of their own, so a deal may be possible in the summer if United find themselves in a better financial situation following INEOS’ arrival.

Martinez has been in goalscoring form this season, scoring 21 goals in 27 appearances.

It may be just a matter of time before he moves from Serie A to the Premier League.
