Karim Benzema wants to leave the Saudi Pro League, but it doesn’t sound like Manchester United will be offering the French striker a route to the Premier League.

According to journalist and broadcaster, Ben Jacobs, there is “not too much substance” on reports that Benzema could move to United or another Premier League club.

United, Arsenal and Chelsea have all been linked with a move for the former Real Madrid striker, who appears to be pushing to exit Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad.

It is understood a “bad-tempered” meeting took place between Al-Ittihad and the Frenchman, as per AFP.

The same source claimed that the 36-year-old feels ‘unable to give the best of himself to Al-Ittihad because of the pressure’.

Benzema could also return to Lyon but he will need to take a drastic pay cut.
