West Ham working on deal for Manchester United-linked striker

VfB Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy is attracting a lot of attention this month amid links to Manchester United, but the Reds could face competition from other Premier League clubs.

According to a report by a member of The West Ham Way Podcast, the Hammers are ‘working’ on a potential deal to sign Guirassy.

The Guinea international has scored 19 goals in just 16 matches across all competitions so far this season, and Stuttgart will be doing all they can to keep hold of him in January.

But, if not now, the 27-year-old could leave during the summer transfer window – with Bayern Munich another club allegedly in the mix for Guirassy’s signature.

The Athletic recently brought us a four-man shortlist as United seek a striker in January, though there is a possibility that we’ll be restricted to loan deals and won’t be able to afford Guirassy unless the club sells players.

Meanwhile, Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg claims Guirassy is not going anywhere at the moment. His African Cup of Nations commitments mean he is leaning towards staying at Stuttgart.

Let us know in the comments who you think United should try to sign in January. A striker is needed to score goals and take the workload from Rasmus Hojlund.
