Covering Manchester United’s 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth has been grim. It’s been made even worse by a damning statistic to come from the result.

The Cherries went into the game in fine form to win their fifth consecutive game in the Premier League, but the result game as a real blow to United, who suffered a 3-0 defeat against a side they really should be beating.

It came just three days after United beat Chelsea 2-1 at Old Trafford, yet the players didn’t show up to pile only more pressure on Erik ten Hag. They proved yet again they’re inconsistent group of players and we’re still missing key players due to injury.

Bournemouth sent United crashing back down to earth after their win over Chelsea as they put three goals past Ten Hag’s side, marking their first win at Old Trafford.

It was also our first defeat of this scale to a team starting the day in the bottom half of the Premier League table, as per Opta Joe.

United need to improve quickly if they’re to get results from this week’s games against Bayern Munich and Liverpool.

It’s a big ask.
