Erik ten Hag was visibly disappointed after Manchester United’s 1-0 defeat against Newcastle at St. James’ Park.
TNT Sports reporter Jules Breach quizzed the Manchester United manager on a number of topics surrounding the game, including Marcus Rashford’s form.
The Dutchman stressed that he will “talk” to Rashford rather than the media.
Anyhow, it was perhaps more interesting to hear Ten Hag talk about the defeat itself. There is no denying that Newcastle were the better team throughout the game. I guess what concerned me most, as a United fan, was the lack of desire and fight from our team.
Newcastle wanted it more. They won the game thanks to Anthony Gordon’s second-half goal. The result ends United’s run of three consecutive victories in the Premier League and we’ve dropped to seventh in the table.
“All over, you have to say Newcastle deserved to win,” Ten Hag told TNT Sports.

He added: “We had a tough first half and said at half-time we were pleased to be in the game… We will talk tomorrow with the team about it. We go back, we will talk about this and move in to Wednesday.”
