Manchester United duo Antony and Rasmus Hojlund are set to return from injury for Wednesday night’s Champions League clash against Galatasaray.
Rasmus Hojlund sustained a hamstring injury against Luton Town prior to the international break, which ruled him out of Sunday’s 3-0 win over Everton.
Although United had announced a fresh injury to Mason Mount ahead of the trip to Everton, Antony was also left out of the Everton game due to injury, so the Brazilian will be in contention to play against Galatasaray.
The young Danish striker has been crucial for United in the Champions League, scoring five goals so far in the group stages, although we sit at the bottom of Group A and in desperate need of three points in Istanbul.
Speaking to reporters at his pre-match press conference, Ten Hag was asked about Antony and Hojlund, to which he replied (via Manchester Evening News): “They are in the squad.”
Ten Hag was also asked if he had any concerns about Kobbie Mainoo dealing with the hostile atmosphere that is expected from the Galatasaray crowd, despite getting on just fine at Goodison Park (I accept it’s very different) on Sunday.
“No,” the manager said. “We don’t have fear. If players are good enough, they are old enough.”
It doesn’t help that Ten Hag will be without Marcus Rashford, who scored from the penalty spot at the weekend, due to suspension after his questionable red card versus FC Copenhagen.
