The Scotland international has now scored three goals in two games for United, which is enough to suggest he warranted his place in the starting line-up tonight.
United took the lead after McTominay cushioned the ball with his chest before striking the ball into the bottom right corner.

But with the Reds leading 1-0, Sheffield United were always going to come out of their shell and they were quickly awarded a penalty following a handball claim involving McTominay.
Unfortunately for United, the Blades pulled one back through a penalty, showing again how we’ve struggled to keep hold of a lead this season.
