Manchester United linked with two exciting wingers ahead of potential Sir Jim Ratcliffe buy-in

One of the areas Sir Jim Ratcliffe will want to improve at Manchester United, if his buy-in attempt is successful, will be the recruitment department.

The British billionaire is hoping his offer for 25% of Manchester United is accepted by the Glazer family, with his initial plans to take care of the sporting side of the business.

According to i, Ratcliffe intends to bring a new sporting director to the club with Paul Mitchell seen as a top candidate.

Now, other outlets are starting to suggest transfer targets for the upcoming transfer windows.

Spanish publication Sport (via Sport Witness) claim Newcastle want to rival Manchester United for the signing of Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz. Elsewhere, TEAMtalk believe Nico Williams is a target on a free transfer but I would be extremely surprised if the winger didn’t sign a new deal at Athletic Bilbao.

Williams could still leave Bilbao in the near future, but as a loyal servant to the club he won’t want to leave on a sour note as a free transfer.

One of those two players could be seen as a replacement for Jadon Sancho, who doesn’t look to have a future at Old Trafford anymore.
