It’s a refreshing sight for all football fans to see goalkeeping legend Edwin van der Sar doing well in his recovery from a brain haemorrhage.
The Dutchman suffered the brain bleed back in July during a family holiday in Croatia, which saw him admitted to intensive care in hospital for a short period.
His wife, Annemarie, shared updates with Ajax – where he previously held the role of chief executive officer – throughout the time to keep supporters updated with Van der Sar’s condition. Fans were told that the incident was not life-threatening.
Van der Sar shares fresh recovery update
Since leaving intensive care, the 52-year-old has been keen to utilise social media in documenting his recovery and today, he was able to get some work done in the gym and appreciate the September sunshine in the Netherlands.
Did some work in the gym this morning and even got some ball work sqeeuzed into the program!
