Galatasaray in advanced talks ahead of potential Donny van de Beek loan

Donny van de Beek is set to leave Manchester United before the transfer window shuts.

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United are in discussions with Galatasray over a loan move for Van de Beek as the player searches for regular starts away from Old Trafford.

The Turkish side are keen to offer Van de Beek a route out of England and are holding talks with United over a loan move.

However, it is also suggested that Van de Beek is wanted by French outfit FC Lorient. Neither of these clubs are willing to take the midfielder on a permanent deal.

Van de Beek is expected to decide his future ahead of Friday’s deadline. It is believed a host of European clubs are showing interest, with Galatasaray more advanced in negotiations.

It has been clear for some time that the Dutch international is deemed surplus to requirements at United, even under Erik ten Hag who got the best out of him at Ajax.

Van de Beek joined United from the Eredivisie giants three years ago with a promising reputation. Now, it would be fair to say his stock has fallen.

Injuries, an underwhelming loan move to Everton and failure to prove himself in a United shirt. That is how I would sum up the 26-year-old’s time at Old Trafford. It is no wonder that he is seeking an exit to reignite his career. As things stand, he is nowhere near the Netherlands national team.

The former Ajax star has made 60 appearances for United, but he has managed just six starts in the Premier League. He hasn’t even been part of the squad for our first three games of the season.
