Fulham’s interest in Fred has stood since the end of last season, but new reports suggest talks have now re-opened after Manchester United turned down an offer from Galatasaray for the midfielder.
It has been clear throughout the summer that the Reds need to move several players on. Many of which are earning far too much at the club and it’s hurting us in terms of Financial Fair Play.
However, the Daily Mail claim Fulham are interested, but that United value the 30-year-old Brazil international around the £20 million mark.
There is also reported interest from the Saudi Pro League.
Fulham manager Marco Silva went out of his way to greet Fred after the last game of the 2022/23 Premier League season. Perhaps that was a sign.
Fred joined United from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2018. Since then, the Brazilian has managed to make 213 appearances for the Reds, scoring 14 goals.
It is inevitable that Fred will be pushed further down the pecking order at United following the arrival of Mason Mount. To make matters worse United are being linked with another midfield acquisition before deadline day, so Ten Hag is moving on with his squad.
On another note, I think United would be doing well to get £20m for Fred.
