Fred’s expected exit from Manchester United is now at a standstill.
The midfielder is believed to have played his last game for the Red Devils after expressing his desire to take on a new venture for the forthcoming season.
Across the 2022/2023 campaign, Fred’s game time was reduced significantly due to the arrivals of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen; he made just 12 Premier League starts but featured in a further 23 games as a substitute.
Now, the 30-year-old is keen to acquire more action elsewhere and Erik ten Hag is open to offloading him to recuperate funds for other transfer targets, such as Sofyan Amrabat.
Galatasaray pursuit of Fred on standby
Despite holding talks over the past weeks, Galatasaray’s pursuit of Fred has now seemingly stalled, according to Fabrizio Romano, and they are scouring the market for alternative options – one being Tottenham Hotspur’s Tanguy Ndombele.
Galatasaray are now considering Tanguy Ndombele as an option for the midfield. Discussions took place to be informed on conditions of the deal. 🟡🔴

This consequently impacts United’s potential bid for Amrabat, as it’s highly unlikely they can table an offer that Fiorentina deem acceptable without the funds from Fred’s departure.
