Manchester United ramp up pursuit of Sofyan Amrabat but are yet to match Fiorentina’s valuation

Manchester United are keen on adding Sofyan Amrabat to their ranks this summer.

The Red Devils could welcome four new faces through the doors at Carrington in this transfer window; Mason Mount and Andre Onana have already settled into the squad and the club are now awaiting Rasmus Hojlund’s arrival after agreeing a £72 million package with Atalanta. Meanwhile, the board have turned their attention behind the scenes to Amrabat.

Erik ten Hag was adamant about signing another midfielder after Mount but knew that a goalkeeper and a striker took priority. With those now wrapped up, United are negotiating a potential deal for the Moroccan.

Fiorentina outline Amrabat price tag

According to Italian outlet Gazzetta, United are hoping to acquire Amrabat for a fee of €25 million, which falls short of Fiorentina’s €30m valuation. The Serie A club would, however, accept €25m plus bonuses.

The Premier League campaign kicks off in just two weeks, so Ten Hag will want his new recruits in the squad and ready for the team’s opening fixture on August 14.

  1. €25m plus bonuses is a bargain. Get it done! We need someone to complement Casemiro in those tough games where a more robust or defensive midfield is called for, or to stand in for him if he’s out for any reason. Plus, just having greater depth is warranted if we’re selling Fred, DvB and McTominay, as I think we should.
