Al-Ahli pushing to sign Manchester United target Sofyan Amrabat

Al-Ahli have threatened to hijack Manchester United’s plans to sign Sofyan Amrabat this summer.

Manchester United have been linked with a move to sign the Morocco international, however, a move very much depends on whether the Reds can sell players between now and transfer deadline day.

Fred is in the process of joining Galatasaray which would help make room for a recruit like Amrabat, but the Turkish side have yet to agree on a transfer fee with United. That is proving to be a stumbling block.

Meanwhile, Dean Henderson was fully expected to sign for Nottingham Forest in this window. It now looks like they could be turning their attention elsewhere towards Arsenal’s second choice goalkeeper instead.

Reports suggest the delay to sell players could cost United.

According to L’Equipe, Al-Ahli are actively pursuing a deal for Amrabat. They intend to finalise the transfer soon.

Fiorentina have resigned to the possibility of losing their star man, so they won’t care where he ends up so long as they get the money they want for his signature.

The problem is we have reason to believe Erik ten Hag wants to bring Amrabat to Old Trafford as deputy to Casemiro in midfield.

With the Hojlund deal all but complete, United can soon turn their complete attention to a transfer for Amrabat.
