A question on the lips of many Manchester United fans at the end of last season was where would Donny van de Beek end up this summer.
A fair few I can imagine thought he’d be stuck with United for another year purely because of our track record for selling players. That includes myself because I won’t believe he’s leaving until he has signed the dotted line with a new club.
I don’t mean that in a bad way. Van de Beek is a good footballer and he deserves to be starring in a team in one of the top leagues. The Premier League may be a stretch as it didn’t work out at United nor did it at Everton.
Van de Beek has ran out of opportunities at United and I think Erik ten Hag has strengthened his midfield to a point that it wouldn’t be fair to keep the Netherland international waiting on the wings.
But there has to be a good enough offer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, La Liga outfit Real Sociedad are actively working to sign Van de Beek from United. The Italian journalist credits Noticias de Gipuzkoa for running the story first.

Romano stresses negotiations are going but still no agreement has been reached on the deal.
He adds that United will wait for Van de Beek and Fred to leave before pushing for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat as an upgrade.
The Morocco midfielder would be a very good signing for United.
