Match preview: Manchester United take on National League champions in San Diego

Manchester United are taking on National League champions Wrexham in the early hours of Wednesday morning in San Diego.

Wrexham were last season’s Hollywood story thanks to superstar owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, though only the latter of the duo will be attending the match at the Snapdragon Stadium.

Erik ten Hag will likely be deploying a youthful line-up after 15 Reds, mostly consisting of Academy players and Jonny Evans, flew over to the United States to join up with the squad this week.

This is because United will then face European giants Real Madrid on Thursday, so the senior players will be saved for that highly-anticipated clash.

On Saturday, the Reds overturned Premier League rivals Arsenal 2-0 at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Before jetting off to America, they also picked up wins against Leeds United (2-0) and Lyon (1-0).

Meanwhile, Wrexham sustained a 5-0 defeat to Chelsea followed by a 4-0 victory over LA Galaxy II.
