Manchester United supporters were left bewildered yesterday after the club’s 31-man squad for the pre-season tour excluded Academy prospect, Matej Kovar.
The Red Devils have jetted off to the United States ready for the start of their tour, which kicks off on Saturday against fellow Premier League rivals Arsenal in New Jersey.
After United revealed the full list of travelling Reds yesterday, fans spotted two notable absentees; Kovar and Fred. The latter will be joining up with his teammates in the coming days after tending to a personal matter in England.
Kovar to complete loan move
As for the Czech international, Simon Stone confirmed that the club are expecting him to go on loan for the forthcoming season, so have opted to leave him at home to finalise his potential move.
Manchester United expect Matej Kovar to go out on loan, hence not in travelling squad. Jonny Evans will be with the academy group heading to San Diego.
